BARNSLEY, William

Royal Warwickshire. 02 November 1918

William Barnsley was the son of Joseph Barnsley of 36 Derry Street, Brierley Hill. He volunteered for the Worcesters but at some point he was drafted into the Warwicks, serving in the 16th Battalion (Birmingham Pals). He was seriously wounded and returned to this country to Brierley Hill where died in the 2nd November 1918. He is buried in the Brierley Hill Baptist Chapel yard (SW 2 19). He was 20 years of age and is commemorated on the Brierley Hill and Brierley Hill church Memorials.
