BAUGH, James Henry

Royal Garrison Artillery. 08 November 1918

James Baugh was born in Hurst Hill, Woodsetton, the son of Elijah and Sarah Baugh of 25 Walter Street, Hurst Hill. He was married to Lily of 5 The Bull Ring, Sedgley. He enlisted on the 20th February 1915 and probably served at home as a driver with the Notts RFA until September 1916, He served abroad until May 1917 when he returned home with gun-shot wounds to his face and right leg. He returned to active service as a gunner in the 8th Siege Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery. He suffered from pneumonia and was taken to one of the military hospitals at Rouen where he died on the 8th November 1918. He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension (S III U 12) and commemorated on the Sedgley and Hurst Hill Memorials.
