BOWATER, William Henry

Royal Artillery.

William Bowater was the son of Arthur Bowater of Richardson Hall Cottage of Wordsley. He enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery and went to A Battery of 4th Brigade. He was seriously wounded in the Advance to Victory and was sent to the Base Hospital at Rouen, where he died on the 11th October 1918. He was 26 years of age and is buried in St. Sever Cemetery (S II S 16) and commemorated on the Wordsley Memorial.
