BURNS, Charles

Royal Army Medical Corps. 21 June 1918

Charles Burns was born at Cinder Bank and was the son of John and Harriet Burns and was married to Louisa of Melton Place, Moseley, Willenhall. He enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps and was sent to the Middle East, possibly to the campaign on the Tigris against the Turkish Empire or to one of the several military hospitals in India. He contracted an illness and died on the 21st June 1918. He was 33 years of age and buried in an unknown cemetery. He is commemorated on the Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial near Bombay and on the Dudley and St. James, church Memorials.
