REYNOLDS, David

Worcestershire. 06 August 1915

David Reynolds lived with his wife, Harriet, in High Street, Cradley, and volunteered for the Worcesters. He was sent to the 4th Battalion and was probably included in the original Gallipoli Expeditionary Force of April 1915. If not, he was in the later reinforcements for the Battalion. The 4th mounted a strong diversionary attack at Krithia for the new landings of the 6th August but the tough Turkish defence meant that the battalion's losses were heavy. Among them was Private David Reynolds who was 35 years of age and is commemorated on the Helles, Cradley and Halesowen Memorials.
