ATTWOOD, George William

Royal Engineers. 01 April 1917

George Attwood attended Wollaston C of E School and was employed by Messrs. Isaac Nash and Sons before 1914. He enlisted in the Royal Engineers in October 1916 and joined the Inland Water Transport section. He went to Mesopotamia where he fell sick and died in hospital on the 1st April 1917. He is buried in Basra Cemetery and commemorated on the Amblecote Memorial. Memorial notice Always lovingly remembered by mother, brothers and sister.
