CHANCE, Albert H

Worcestershire. 27 May 1919

Albert. H. Chance was an early Territorial volunteer for the Worcesters who served in the 1/7th Battalion. He was posted to the 9th Battalion, possibly after returning from wounds. He could have fought in the Gallipoli campaign and certainly fought in Mesopotamia. Either from wounds or disease he remained there after the defeat of the Turkish forces and died in a Baghdad hospital on the 27th May 1919. Private Albert Chance is buried in Baghdad North Gate cemetery (X A 7) and is commemorated on the Halesowen Memorial.
