WHITE, Leonard

Royal Army Service Corps. 14 October 1919

Leonard White was the son of James and Alice White of 158 Spring Hill, Hasbury, Halesowen. He attended Hasbury C of E School and enlisted in the Army Service Corps. He went to 1015 Mechanical Transport Company which was posted to Mesopotamia. He remained after the armistice in that part of the Turkish Empire as part of the army of occupation but he died, probably of disease, on the 14th October 1919. He was 21 years of age and is buried at Baghdad North Gate Cemetery (Special Memorial 8). He is commemorated on the Halesowen and Hasbury C of E School Memorials.
