The Dudley and District Post Offices covered quite a wide area of the Black Country and their staff erected this memorial to their colleagues. No fewer than fifty seven served in the forces and nine died. Four are commemorated in places beyond European battle-fields and one in Ireland. At the top the memorial has an elaborate wreath enclosing the words ‘HONOUR THE BRAVE. The dedication reads:

AND DISTRICT POST OFFICES
IN MEMORY OF THEIR COMRADES WHO
FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
