BEDDALL, Samuel

Worcestershire. 28 June 1916

Samuel Beddall was the son of John and Martha Beddall of Netherton and was married to Louisa of 46 Hill Street, Netherton. He volunteered for the Worcesters and joined the 1st Battalion on the Western Front. In March 1915 the Worcesters took part in the first attack of the campaigning season at Neuve Chapelle, followed by Aubers Ridge in May. They Armenti?res sector remained relatively quiet but Private Samuel Beddall was killed on the 28th June, probably as a result of enemy shelling. He was 23 years of age and is buried in Sailly-sur-la-Lys Canadian Cemetery II F 125) and commemorated on the Dudley and Netherton Memorials.
