BEECH, Reginald S

Reginald Beech lived at 7 Cross Street, Stourbridge, with his parents. He had worked before the war for the Pearl Assurance Co. in Lower High St. and later for Mr Ernest Stevens. He volunteered in 1914 and enlisted in the RAMC. He was sent out to the Balkans in 1915 with the Mediterranean Force to aid Greece and Serbia against Bulgaria. He was posted to the 27th Casualty Clearing Station based at Salonika and remained in this area without leave for the three years he was abroad. Just as the campaign was reaching a successful conclusion with the defeat of Bulgaria he developed pneumonia and died on the 11th October 1918. Acting Lance Corporal Reginald Beech was 24 years of age and is buried in Doiran Cemetery (6 K 2) and commemorated on the Stourbridge Memorial.
