William Carradine lived at Cradley and volunteered for the Worcesters and later transferred to the Royal Flying Corps, which formed the major part of the newly created Royal Air Force of 1918. He was stationed at the Central Flying School but was seriously injured in an accident. Corporal William Carradine died on the 3rd July 1918 and is buried in Cradley Churchyard (B 42). He is commemorated on the Cradley and Halesowen Memorials.
