Brynmor Conan-Davies was the son of the Revd. J. Conan-Davies, a former Vicar of Lye who was Rector of Bradley near Feckenham, Worcs. He attended The King's School, Worcester, and volunteered after 1914 for military service. He was commissioned into the York and Lancaster Regiment and served in the 7th (Pioneer) Battalion in the 17th (Northern) Division. They were very closely involved in the battles of 1918, facing the German Spring offensives at Albert and Amiens and taking part in the Advance to Victory at Epehy and Cambrai. At some point Lieutenant Conan-Davies was wounded and returned to England for hospital treatment. He died on the 23rd November 1918. He was 27 years of age and is buried in Highgate Cemetery (79 412) and commemorated on the Lye and Wollescote, Lye church and King's School, Worcester, Memorials and on the Worcester Cathedral King's School cloister window Memorial.
