Harry Deeley lived at 22 Shepherds Brook Road, Lye, and was married to Agnes (later Aston). He was a pre-war regular soldier with the Worcesters and was probably recalled to the colours at the outbreak of war. If so, he served in the 1914 campaign with either the 2nd or 3rd Battalions but by late 1915 he was in the 5th Battalion, a training and reserve battalion serving at home. Whether from wounds or disease is unknown but he died on the 20th November 1915 and is buried in the Lye and Wollescote Cemetery (C P 9). He is commemorated on the Lye and Wollescote and Lye church Memorials.
Commemorated at:
Lye / Wollescote Cemetery, Stourbridge West Midlands, United Kingdom
