Felix Dudley was the son of Mrs Edith Dudley, a nail-maker, of Back 42 Chapel Street, Lye, and worked as a bucket maker. He volunteered for the Worcesters and went to the Western Front with the 1st Battalion in November 1915. He probably fought on the Somme in 1916 and after illness was transferred to the 3rd Battalion. In the course of the German Spring offensives in March 1918 he was injured and returned home. He recovered sufficiently to be attached the 5th Battalion but died on the 17th September 1918. He was 21 years of age and is buried in Lye and Wollescote Cemetery (GM 16) and commemorated on the Lye and Wollescote and Lye church Memorials.
