Enoch Moore was the son of Enoch and Eva Moore of Halesowen and attended Halesowen C of E school. He volunteered for the Worcesters and joined the 2nd Battalion. In 1915 they were in Artois and involved in the battles of Festubert in the Spring and Loos in the Autumn. They moved to the Somme in 1916 for the second phase of the battle, fighting at Bazentin in the 14th July attack and at High Wood. In the course of this hard fought struggle Private Enoch Moore was killed in action on the 20th July 1916. He was 22 years of age and is commemorated on the Thiepval, Halesowen and Halesowen C of E school Memorials.
