Albert Parton lived at 4 Norton Terrace, Stourbridge, and was the youngest son of Henry and Emma Parton who later lived at 93 Ivanhoe St., Scotts Green, Dudley. He was admitted to Old Swinford Hospital in 1905 and was apprenticed in 1912 to Mr S. Horton, a plasterer. He enlisted in August 1916 in the artillery and joined 277th Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery near Ypres in March 1917. Gunner Albert Parton was killed in action on the 7th June. He was 19 years of age and is buried in Dickiebusch New Military Cemetery Extension (3 C 11) and commemorated on the Stourbridge, Oldswinford church, Lye and Wollescote and Old Swinford Hospital Memorials. Jack, his older brother, was killed in action on the 1st April 1917.
