TAYLOR, Frank

Worcestershire. 16 July 1917

Frank Taylor was the son of Charles and Sarah Ann Taylor of 28 Green Lane, Lye, and enlisted in the Worcesters. He served in the 4th Battalion which was sent out to Gallipoli for the landings of the 25th April 1915. The battalion was evacuated in January 1916 and went to the Western Front. Private Frank Taylor, however, seems to have gone on to Mesopotamia, perhaps with the 9th Battalion, and his death was recorded on the 16th July 1917. He was 31 years of age and is buried in Nisibin Memorial (259) at Baghdad North Gate Cemetery. He is commemorated on the Lye and Wollescote and Lye church Memorials.
