Pedmore was a small Worcestershire village in 1914. Its situation close to Stourbridge made it an attractive place for those who became prosperous from Black Country industry but it retained its country atmosphere and agricultural activity. After 1918 two War Memorials were set up. Inside St. Peter’s church a beautifully illuminated Roll of Honour records the names of all who served, notably those who had fought in the conflict and returned. Outside the church a stone obelisk was erected with the names of those who died. Five names are listed according to date of death.
