LLOYD, Edward Stanley MC

Royal Artillery. 23 November 1918

Edward Lloyd was the second son of Edwin and Emily Lloyd of Radcliffe Road, Croydon. He seems to have worked in Dudley and to have been a member of the local Masonic Lodge. He served in the Royal Field Artillery and in 1918 was stationed at the HQ of 312 Brigade. At some point he was promoted to Lieutenant and awarded the Military Cross. He fought in the Advance to Victory but was taken to a military hospital where died of bronchial pneumonia on the 23rd November 1918. He was 32 years of age and is buried in Le Cateau Communal Cemetery (I 11)and commemorated on Dudley Memorial and the Masonic Roll of Honour.
