HEATH, John

King's Royal Rifle Corps. 30 July 1915

John Heath was born in Blackheath and was living in Tipton in 1914. He volunteered for the KRRC and joined the 9th Battalion in the 14th Division. They crossed to France in July 1915 and took up positions near Ypres. In one of their earliest turns in the front line Rifleman John Heath was killed in action on the 30th July. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate and Halesowen Memorials.
